Live at the Marquee

The late and great Barrie Masters and the boys rockin' their hearts out at the Marquee in London 1976. Some gig by the sound of it and captures the bands live sound and sheer energy! None of the tracks are their own, they are all covers of old school rock and blues songs, but when you think about it how many punk bands like The Sex Pistols, The Rezillos even The Damned did covers.

Eddie & The HotRods, Live at the Marquee 1976

The track listing is:

- 96 Tears originally by ? & The Mysterians
- Get Out of Denver originally by Bob Seger
- Gloria/Satisfaction originally by Van Morrison and Them with a finale originally by The Rolling Stones

The band were a kind of crossover from pub rock to punk rock and I'm proud to say they are from my home county of Essex.

The Line Up was:

Barrie Masters - Vocals
Steve Nicol - Drums
Dave Higgs - Guitar
Paul Gray - Bass

The Engineer for the vinyl was Vic Maille, well known for his engineering work with bands like Motorhead, The Who, Hawkwind etc

And finally Production of the vinyl by none other than Ed Hollis (older brother of the late Mark Hollis from Talk Talk)

The gig poster from their website, check it out at:

Obviously dates have changed as 2020 was a nightmare, there are currently dates scheduled for 2021, but in current climate not even sure if these would be happening either.
