That's My Girl
Jane Pow, That's My Girl
Ambition By The Bucket Load
Released on the Ambition Label in 1989 and the B Side of the 7" single 'Safe'.
They were part of the indie/garage rock revival and appeared to have been from Southampton.
The label only appear to have released about ten 7" singles, mostly by Jane Pow, but also The Mayfield's, Evol and The Love buttons. The website twee.net lists them.
Sounds a bit like?
This track has a very catchy guitar riff that a lot of garage rock bands had (almost R&B style Bobby Parker and 'Watch Your Step'), as well as that whole Doors-esque 'Gloria' type vibe in the vocals.
Formation, Line Up & More Info
They were formed in 1988 and eventually split by 1993 and were:
- Richard Starke - Vocals/Guitar
- Andrew Starke - Guitar

Evidently they took their inspiration from bands such as The Jam.
