Where's Me Jumper?❄️🥶
Cold! ❄️🥶 So cold that we have polar bears in the living room and I bumped into a couple of penguins on the landing this morning!🐧❄️

The weather this week has been more than a touch chilly, I know certainly not as cold as some places, but nonetheless still cold enough to make you not want to get up from hibernating under a duvet in the morning.🦔
Where's Me Jumper?
With weather so cold the song title itself seemed reasonably apt and enough to get me bouncing around the room when I hear it, although the track is actually about someone losing their brand new jumper at a disco.
"Dancing at the disco,
bumper to bumper,
wait a minute where's me Jumper?"
The track 'Where's Me Jumper?' was by the bunch of Irish 'loons' better known as The Sultans Of Ping F.C. the track was released in 1991 on the Divine Record Label.

Their unusual name came about as the story goes from the track 'Sultan's Of Swing' and was a play on the band's song and reaction to anything nasty being said about Dire Straits who wrote it!
They lasted until 1996 causing some controversy with album covers etc back in the day. Niall O'Flaherty going on to leave the music business and become a lecturer in the History of European Political Thought at King's College London.
Casual Sex In The Cineplex
The track was the last on their debut album, the track list below:

Links to some of my other favourites are above. 'Talk Too Much' sounding quite like early Punk type tracks.
I first heard them on the John Peel Show 'Sultans Of Ping Peel Session '92' back in the day where they stood out as one of the most awesomely brilliant bands with the most absurd lyrics you could possibly wish for:
"Eat natural foods, bathe twice daily, Fill your nostrils up with gravy. Don't drink tea and don't drink coffee. Cover your chin in Yorkshire toffee."
Lyrically quite surreal and amusing, a band that clearly didn't take themselves too seriously.
This blog was, actually originally on Blogger as a Blogspot called 'Where's Me Joompah!' which I started back in 2018 and the first post I ever made on it was this record. Since that time I played around on Tumblr (and eventually wished I hadn't bothered). I then cut ties on Tumblr, closed off visibility to the Blogspot and set up again under new name on Publii redirecting the site to this one, guess I just got bored during Lockdown! I still knock about on Pinterest under the old name 'Where'sMeJoompah!' though.
