The Three Johns, AWOL released in 1983 on the Abstract Record label

The band were:

  • John Langford - Guitar
  • John Hyatt - Vocals
  • John Brennan -Bass
  • Hugo - Drum Machine

They were originally on the CNT Record Label (which John Langford co-founded).

They had left-wing leanings and the sleeve for their 1984 album 'Atom Drum Bop' contained the words Rock n Roll vs Thaatchiism (reference to the Conservative's marketing by Saatchi & Saatchi). They also played the GLC's Jobs for Change festival in 1985.

Whilst gigging they also kept working too. John Langford being a Graphic Designer and John Hyatt an Art Teacher at Leeds Poly.
