Touch Me I'm Sick
All gone down here with a touch of the Covid's/Colds who knows? 🤧but I guess the title of this post seemed apt! 😉
This band perhaps not quite as successful as some of their labelmates, however they did form part of the early trailblazers of 'grunge' artists at the start of the genre in Seattle. The band Mudhoney, alt rock/grunge from over the pond from 1988 with their track 'Touch Me I'm Sick'.

Sub Pop
'Touch Me I'm Sick' was the band's first release on the Sub Pop Label an American label founded by Bruce Pavitt who used to run a fanzine then later moved into running a Seattle based music column and finally starting up his own label which released records for other well known artists such as The Afghan Whigs, Lo Fidelity Allstars, Sebadoh and of course Nirvana.

We Wanna Be Free...
The above track called 'Need' was from the E.P. 'Superfuzz Bigmuff' released in 1988, it was an E.P. that was hugely admired by fellow label mate Kurt Cobain. Have a listen to the first track from the E.P. 'In And Out Of Grace', see if you recognise the opening....

Mudhoney, The Lineup
- Mark Arm - Guitar/Vocals
- Steve Turner - Guitar/Vocals
- Matt Lukin - Bass/Vocals
- Dan Peters - Drums/Vocals
As a band they have impressively notched up 10 albums in their career.
Matt Lukin was to leave the band in 1999 and was replaced by Guy Maddison, he briefly returned in 2000, but the next year apparently retired from the music business altogether.
Happy Belated Birthday!
As at 2021 both the Sub Pop label and Mudhoney celebrated the 30 year anniversary of the release of their album 'Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge' which includes additional un-released tracks as well as re-mastered releases.
